Anthony Dumper

The Rt Rev Anthony Charles Dumper was the Bishop of Dudley from 1977 until 1993.[1] Born on 4 October 1923 he was educated at Christ's College, Cambridge[2] and ordained in 1947. He began his ecclesiastical career with a Curacy in Greenwich [3] after which he was Vicar of Perak and then Archdeacon of North Malaysia before his elevation to the Episcopate. A keen gardener, Bishop Anthony is married with two sons and one daughter[4] and in retirement continues to serve the church as an Assistant Bishop within the Diocese of Birmingham.
